As most of you already know, Leon’s mom died last Wednesday. I don’t feel entitled to mourn her, as Leon and his family aren’t in my life anymore. It’s definitely a weird feeling, but it will pass. My mother-in-law is going to have her stem cell transplant at some point during the next month, as part of her cancer treatment. She e-mailed me this morning to ask if there is a book of poetry that I could recommend for this time ( Read more... )

This past weekend, I was in New York (and New Jersey) for my sister-in-law Ruth's graduation from Bard University. A huge chunk of Leon's family was there, including his parents, brother, uncle, and grandma. Ruth's boyfriend Todd, who graduated last year, was also there.

Leon and I are flying to Seattle this weekend to meet up with his parents, Marty and Ellen. Ellen starts her cancer treatment on Friday, though, so we don't know if she'll be up for the drive from Montana.
